Renovation efforts for Masonic Theatre in Clifton Forge got off to a good beginning in January when the Highlands community was informed of the plans to renovate the theatre to a performing arts, motion picture and community center to enhance activities region.

Architects have been chosen and fundraising activities are beginning. The community has been supportive and enthusiastic about the plans for the Masonic Theatre.

Recently David Phillips, CFO of R/C Theatres donated two used screens in excellent condition to the Masonic. The screens will need to be framed in order to use them in the theatre and this will enable motion pictures to be shown in the Masonic as soon as money can be raised for a projector and sound system.

Tom McClung of Clifton Forge delivered the screens to the theatre and volunteers unloaded the screens where they will be stored in a safe place until money can be raised for equipment and construction needed to use the screens.
