The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Saturday at the C&O Railway Heritage Center in Clifton Forge for the dedication of their replica of JD Cabin signal tower. Construction on the replica signal tower began earlier this year as one of the exhibits at the Chesapeake and Ohio Historical Society's Heritage Center located at Smith Creek Yard. The original JD Cabin was located just east of Clifton Forge on the C&O main line, at the junction of the North Mountain and James River subdivisions. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held as part of the annual Alleghany Railroad Heritage Festival.
