Covington School Superintendent Eddie Graham says being named Virginia Region VI Superintendent of the Year is more of a reflection of hard work of school staff, parents and the community. "It's always humbling to be recognized by your fellow professionals," Graham said, reiterating that the support of the school system's staff, parents and community is the key to the school division's accomplishments.
He was recognized at the Virginia Association of School Superintendents' Annual Conference held May 5 at the Hotel Roanoke. Graham has served as superintendent served as an administrator at Jackson River Technical Center for 19 years; as a teacher at Clay Elementary in Clay, WV for one year. He is active in the community and professional organizations.
School divisions in Region VI include Alleghany County, Botetourt County, Covington, Craig County, Danville, Floyd County, Franklin County, Henry County, Martinsville, Montgomery County, Patrick County, Pittsylvania County, Roanoke, Roanoke County and Salem.
