March 2010April 2010- 04/03 - Douthat Easter Egg Hunt - Welcome spring by celebrating Easter at Douthat. Enjoy an egg hunt and craft-making fun for the young and young at heart. A sunrise worship service is also planned for Sunday morning at the amphitheater.

- 04/16 - Douthat Earth Day Celebration - Douthat's Earth Day celebration is open to all area schools. The morning is filled with environmental education programs by volunteers from organizations across the state. Students spend the afternoon participating in various volunteer projects to spruce up the park as part of the statewide Stewardship Virginia campaign.

- 06/05 - Douthat Fishing for the Kids & Clean the Bay Day - Douthat State Park and Riders Up! Outfitters sponsor this angling event for the kids. Workshops include craft activities, aquatic macroinvertebrates, fishing fundamentals, cleanup projects and fishing. Clean the Bay Day events at Douthat promote stewardship of our watersheds and the Chesapeake Bay because Douthat is in the bay's watershed.

July 2010August 2010September 2010- 09/04 - Douthat Labor Day Weekend Activities - Douthat's beach closes after Labor Day so come out one last time for beach games, nature and history programs, and other entertainment for all ages.
- 09/11 - Douthat Stewardship Virginia Waterways Cleanup Day - See how what you do in your backyard can affect neighbors downstream. This event is perfect for 4-H clubs, scouts, church groups, civic organizations, families and community volunteers wanting to participate in cleanup projects and promote the stewardship of our watersheds. Activities include stream and trail cleanup activities, children's programs and canoe tours ($5).
October 2010- 10/09 - Douthat Apple Day: A Celebration of Appalachian Heritage - Enjoy crisp mountain air, beautiful fall foliage, and celebrate the fruits of fall. Enjoy a day in the park with apple butter making, games, pelt displays, campfire cooking, hay rides, traditional Appalachian artisan and craft demonstrations, bluegrass music, clogging and great food.
December 2010- 12/01 - Douthat Ornament Making Contest - Students, 4-H club members, church youth groups and scouts are invited to compete in an event making ornaments out of natural or recycled materials. Ornaments are judged, and prizes are awarded in various categories. Schools may also contact the park for an outreach program related to the contest.
- 12/01 - New Work From The Joyful Brush - Exciting & beautiful new images by Virginia Lloyd-Davies of Fairfield, VA. Chinese brush painting in traditional calligraphic style along with contemporary Po Mo, a poured watercolor technique that dates to 6-7c. China.
